Momquest is a dinner and dessert evening, an evening out for the mothers and grandmothers; it's an opportunity for sons and fathers to prepare and serve a great meal for the great ladies in their life; it's an opportunity for mothers to see their sons in action, in service; it's an opportunity for moms to learn more about Conquest. On Saturday, February 26th, the Conquest boys hosted the 3rd Momquest event in Regina. It was hosted at Christ the King Parish and attended by 45 ladies (Conquest mothers and guests). Serving the ladies were 28 boys 10 young men and 15 men. Conquest teaches teamwork, organized divide and conquer service. We also strive to teach boys about their faith, learn more about virtue and their role as a son of God in service of the Church, their family and their community.
We hope that the ladies enjoyed the evening. The meal was fantastic, starting with a mushroom chowder, followed up with the main course which was a very tender and tasty slowly braised Canadian beef shortrib. Dessert was cheesecake with fresh berries. Trevor Novak, Conquest Club President was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Also during the evening were two testimonies given by veteran Conquest members, Donovan Novak (1st year University) and David Craig-Penner (grade 12). Donovan and David are responsible for guiding the Conquest leaders, planning and running weekly activities and weekend retreats. Their example and experience gave the ladies a window into the path that the younger Conquest members are on. They are an inspiration for all.
You can see by the picture links below that the boys were divided into work teams that brought the meals and cleaned the tables and brought refreshments (coffee, tea and juice). Click on the links below to see the highlights of the evening.
