2010 Conquest Weekend Retreats

The October "Mystery" retreat was held at Leboldus High School on Oct.22nd and 23rd. Close to 30 boys attended and had a great time. The theme of "Mystery" was in the games and the talks during the retreat. The main games were the Couch Tournament and the Mafia Tournament. The boys also did some intense dodgeball but the main activities were the two tournaments. The game "couch" is a deduction game where teammates must find out who their teammates are and align them up 4 in a row on the couch. This intense and mind racking game was a hit with the boys and loud cheers and high fives were seen at the completion of each game. The second tournament was mafia. Mafia is more of a investigation game where players must find out who dunn-it in this murder-mystery style game. All the activities brought loud howls of laughter and intense game playing. See the pictures on the below movie slide show. The next weekend retreat is the Feb.5th weekend once again @ Leboldus High School.

Prayer itself, born in Catholic families, nurtured by programs of Christian formation, strengthened by the grace of the sacraments, is the first means by which we come to know the Lord’s will for our lives. To the extent that we teach young people to pray, and to pray well, we will be cooperating with God’s call. Programs, plans and projects have their place; but the discernment of a vocation is above all the fruit of an intimate dialogue between the Lord and his disciples. Young people, if they know how to pray, can be trusted to know what to do with God’s call." Pope Benedict XVI
